Transition program for high school students with disabilities

The high school to college transition is fraught with risk for many students, but for students with disabilities, the risks are even greater.

Accustomed to parental support and the accommodations of an IEP in high school, students with disabilities often find the independence, unstructured time, lack of support, and increased demands of college overwhelming.

One option is to seek a transition year, such as the run by Landmark College, where students can learn the college ropes prior to the actual transition.
