A great study method

Educational theory says the most effective studying takes place in short, frequent sessions. That makes sense. When students cram, they have peak focus for, say, 30 minutes to an hour (depending on their attention span). After that, the material goes in one ear and out the other. Without focus, nothing sticks. Therefore, the best way to commit material to memory is to study only as long as you remain alert.

It’s one thing to study a lot. It’s another thing to make progress. Online flashcards remember what you’ve learned over time, so you can spend precious hours on material you’ve not yet mastered.

Flashcards are perfect study aids for several reasons:

  • They are portable and can be taken anywhere.
  • They are useful for otherwise useless “dead” times, such as waiting for
    appointments, sitting in traffic, etc.
  • You can now put a flashcard app on your iPhone or Android!

One of my favorite internet flashcard sites is STUDY BLUE at http://www.studyblue.com. Check out the capabilities of this site – it’s pretty impressive!

Hi, One of the best flash card sites is quizlet and you can add anyone’s to your dashboard. Upgrading for a small fee allows you to put images on flashcards. I like your site. My daughter is in 11th grade and looking to play college soccer. She’s add and dsylexia. Good grades, poor SATs. We are working on that! I feel bad for these kids because standardized tests are soo much harder. A D I school really likes her, but she needs to get those dreaded SATs up.
