Dual enrollment allows high school students, even those with learning disabilities, to take college-level courses in their high schools that count as both high school and college credits. The idea is that taking college courses early imbues students with the confidence needed to enroll in college. According to Inside Higher Ed , this practice probably does students more harm than good.
